Last updated: October 2026. A plain-language summary of what TripToCost does and doesn't do with your data.
TripToCost doesn't have user accounts, doesn't use cookies for tracking, and doesn't sell data to anyone, because it doesn't collect any in the first place beyond what's described below.
Everything below is stored using your browser's local storage, directly on your device: your saved trips, your packing checklist progress for each itinerary, your selected display currency, a short list of the searches, filters and itineraries you have looked at (used only to personalise the Surprise Me suggestion, and clearable from the Surprise Me window), and a small key that lets you edit a review you have written. None of this is sent to a TripToCost server. Clearing your browser's site data or using a different browser/device will reset all of it.
Reviews are public. If you submit a review, its text, rating, the name and trip you typed and the time you posted it are stored on our server and shown to every visitor on the homepage. Please don't include personal details you don't want shared, such as your email address or phone number. We don't ask for your email, and we don't store your IP address with the review (it is only used briefly to limit how many reviews one connection can post per hour). You can edit a review from the browser you wrote it in. Reviews that are spam, abusive or contain personal details may be removed. If the reviews service is temporarily unavailable, a review is kept only on your device.
Pages on this site load a small number of external resources needed to render properly:
These providers may log standard technical request data (such as IP address) as part of normal web hosting. This is governed by their own respective privacy policies, not TripToCost's.
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will change accordingly.
